We purchased these for a long road trip, through several states, with another couple. It was a great way to communicate between vehicles on the road! When we lost cellphone service, we could still communicate with these walkies. We enjoyed having them!Nice light weight and easy to use radios. I only have a small issue with these radios. And that is the display. It is dark background with dark blue characters. Very hard to see in the daylight. I overcome this by setting things up beforehand but every now and again something needs to be changed so I have to find myself hugging a tree or something to shield the light enough so I can see the screen. The only other complaint I would have, (And it has nothing to do with the quality of the radio) is the VOX. I only wish VOX technology was such that it wasn't so sensitive to the wind. Th e wind causes the mic to open and keep xmitting until the radio times out. Without the VOX aspect the way it is, these radios would be great. (I plan on continued adjustments to try and dial this in better because that is one of the reasons I wanted this radio/earphone set. But I knew going in the VOX would be touchy) For that reason I did NOT deduct a star from the rating.Easy to use. Great for quick messaging.the blue tooth was very hard to set up and then it would not stay connected, and it would turn off after about 10 minutesAt first they were great after a few weeks they stoped charging by the bases and we had to use the USB port now they barely work on and off .These walkie talkies are exactly what I've been looking for. Long rechargable battery life in addition to standard battery housing (also included). Lots of customizable functions that reduce standard walkie-talkie issues (busy channel chatter, adjustable tones and volumes, headpiece usability).The headpiece could be more seamlessly paired with the radios, but it's still a welcomed addition for multitasking while communicating.Highly recommend these. Great value.
