Llevo 3 dias con ellos ensendidos y la bateria sigue llena, me imajinaba que no era tan bueno pero debo reconocer que es EXELENTE que pasa mis expectativas y el precio exelente. Lo recomiendo al 100 por ciente. These would have a 5 star from me if the vibrate mode also had an option to silence the beep.My husband and I self-moved 1000 miles and knew we would lose cell reception in certain areas. So glad we had these walkie talkies. I followed in my car behind my husband and the walkies became our go to for communication. I didn't have to take my eyes off the road to dial him and wait for the call to connect. I could quickly be in contact to notify him of issues or to point something out. I'd say the reception is great for about a quarter mile so I was happy they served their purpose. We did pick up some interference with other users but we just changed the channel. Great little walkie. Simple to use and affordable.Purchased in 2016, used only a handful of times 2016-2021; since late 2021 I daily use for projects. There has always been a clarity issue. The WKs come with 1000 mAh no-name batteries and since replacing them with a Nuon brand 2500 mAh batteries (increasing the total charge by 2.5x), it appears the deconstructive chatter is gone; clarity improved. I recommend anyone purchasing these WKs to replace the stock, no-name, rechargeable batteries with brand 2500 mAh or 2700 mAh batteries. There is also a sweet-spot such that when I speak either too close or too far to the microphone, the reception mangles. There is one spot in which colleagues hear me well somewhere in between. Strange.Went to a dance music festival with the intent of using this instead of bringing and losing my cellphone. This thing has terrible sound quality after a certain distance… couldn’t hear what my partner was saying at all. Battery life for days thoughMy issue was that the back battery compartment would not open. After removing the 2 metal screws, I could not pry it open even with a screwdriver since there is not enough of a lip to open it. I assume there is some sort of waterproof seal that is so tight that it won't loosen. Both radios were that way. I was afraid to break the plastic lip and it was starting to bend. I had to return the product. So I was never able to operate the unit, but if I were, I would probably need superhuman eyesight since the printing on the screen which mimics the actual display it so tiny I could not read it even with reading glasses.Bought these two years ago and loved them enough to buy another set when we lost them moving. The second set didn't quite measure up despite being the exact same model. Maybe a dud.I'm total newbie and did a lot of research before I decided to buy this radio and I'm overall I'm very happy with it.Since there are already more than enough reviews here on Amazon about this model, so I will focus on the issues that I found less discussed:- Microphone Volume:It is true, the microphone volume is not impressive. However I according to what I read this is often the case with other waterproof radios as well. So it seems to be somewhat of a necessary evil for the water proofing function. Interestingly just like I read in someone's review, it was as if the microphone got better after opening the external microphone port and letting the pressure to equalize. MOST IMPORTANTLY you MUST talk CLOSELY and DIRECTLY into the speaker/microphone, meaning your nose should almost touch the mode button. If you are trying to talk like on a celphone, then the radio won't pick up your voice well and the others won't hear you loudly. - Range:If you research this subject you will find that most of the experts will agree: the manufacturers claim of 35 miles range is likely (if at all) only going to happen under ideal conditions from mountain top to mountain top. As for RANGE IN SUBURBAN CITY TESTING we got close to 1 MILE on the stronger (2 Watt) GMRS Channels (Channel 15-22) and about 1/3 MILE on the weaker (0.5 Watt) FRS Channels (Channel 8-14). It needs to be mentioned that it IS VERY important what channel you are using not only because of the differences in range, but also because currently the FCC actually requires you to get have a license for using the GMRS Channels. Having said that, while one GMRS license will cover you and your entire family, there is no license requirement for using the FRS Channels. You will find this information printed in the users manual of this radio as well (on page 21 under General Specifications and Licensing).-Compatibility:From what I read so far, FRS and GMRS Channel Frequencies are standard, which means you can talk to any other FRS/GMRS radio as long identical numerical channels are selected.- GMRS Repeater Capability:Those who are interested in using this feature will already know, this radio is not repeater capable. From what I read, as far as hand helds go, currently only a few Motorola phones and a phone from Olympia are repeater capable.the product itself is fine. no issue with both units. product seemed well made. However, i do have an issue with the claim that the list price was $177 on sales for $51, which Amazon claimed to be 71% off as per product listing. I believed it and thought it was a great deal. As it turned out, the Cobra website had this product at $59.99. So I feel that it's bit mis-leading and will certainly double check on claimed savings in the future - a lesson for others as well.
