I initially purchased these for my grandchildren to play with. We have a camp about 200 feet away from where they live. They used them to communicate with some guests at our camp since we don't have a landline phone and mobile service is spotted. Impressed with the distance they worked at and best little investment.These walkie talkies work really well! My kids love using them around the house and on family trips.The walkie talkies arrived in a fairly small box with each in a plastic baggie and instruction manual. Each walkie talkie takes 4 AAA batteries put in by sliding off the back cover. I learned if the cover doesnt easily slide back on it means a battery needs to be pressed down more. Originally I gave these to my 5yr son as a plan to take on our hikes, but he loved them so much he was running around the house with one and giving dad and I the other (the word "over" was used A LOT). The buttons were easy to push and kid friendly sizing (really he would only need to press the side button/or could turn on hands free for no buttons). I was going crazy because the sounds were so loud each time a button was pushed- I pulled out the manual and realized that the beeping when I pushed a button or sent a message could be turned off (it will only then make a sound if a button is pushed when the lock is on) GAME CHANGER! That made these walkie talkies great in my book. We have only used them less than half a mile a part so I cant comment on distance really but they are pretty clear and no feedback if they are close together (kid likes to still use them even if right next to me). Also they have a little flashlight on the top. Its not super bright when there is light but we found a historic tunnel that was closed down and went inside to check it out' I used my flashlight and my kid used this light- it was bright enough. I'll upload a video of them as well. Kiddo loves them.Great Walkie Talkies, I highly recommend these! I bought these for my son for his 7th birthday and him and my 9 year old son have been having such a blast playing with them! They have excellent sound quality with no static and are able to reach an incredibly long range for an inexpensive toy. I would expect these to cost much more for the quality that they are, I’m very pleasantly surprised. My kids went a block away from one another and could still hear each other without any static or difficulty at all. We haven’t yet discovered how far you would need to travel before losing connection, but it’s definitely far enough for the kids playing around the neighborhood. They have so many fun features like different call sounds to choose from, a flashlight feature, and 22 different channels along with up to 99 different “codes” for each channel so that you can have a private connection without picking up any other conversations nearby. I’m surprised by how great these Walkie Talkies are for such a reasonable price. A couple months back, I had bought a pair of Walkie Talkies for my kids from Walmart for the same price and they didn’t have any of the fun features that these ones have and broke after only a couple days of use. These Walkie Talkies are very durable, 5 stars!I bought these for my sons for Christmas, could not get the first set to work and box arrived damaged, requested a replacement and received them 2 days after Christmas and they work perfectly!Having gone through a few pairs of cheap walkie talkies that didn't last long or work well, we are pleased with this set. They are colorful, durable, and fit nicely into kids' hands. There was a bit of learning curve for my 5 year old grandson & especially his 3 year old brother, but they love them. We had to stress about staying on the same channel and pressing the talk button. They got the hang of it and play with them often. They love to go into another room and call their mom on it. They have a good reception range. In fact, when we first got them, my husband and I were playing with them, calling each other on them, goofing off and saying silly things. Then a voice came through them saying 'hi guys'. hahaha I guess it was our next door neighbor. :-) They are a fun set of walkie talkies.I bought these for my kiddos for Christmas as part of an “indoor scavenger hunt” kit to keep them busy during COVID and they love them! They are easy enough to use that my 2 year old can join in the fun and they fit perfectly in his hand. My 10 year old sets the mission and they are off around the house talking to each other from every room and working together to find items on the scavenger hunt. The sound is great and the volume can be turned up and down for parents sanity. The have only used them inside and the range is great - they can’t wait to get them outside in the Spring! They link with other walkie talkies on the same signal, so we were able to pair an old one we had; now I can “radio” them for lunch. Great product that has provided hours of “trapped in the house” entertainment!!
