I like bare bones no frills radios and that is why I am trying out this RB75. I've only been able to do range testing from portable to portable on the 5 watt GMRS non-repeater channels, using two other Retevis radios in the mix... the RB27 and the RT76P. Doing rural, urban, and city range tests, all 3 of these radios performed as well and better than I would expect. Especially in the city. All 3 transmitted and received well out to 2 miles, and up to 2 1/2 miles with reduced volume and static. With this, at 2 1/2 miles the audio was still understandable. The RB75 edged out the RB27 and the RT76P with range by just a nose.What might be a drawback for some is the lack of a channel indicator. Obviously there is no screen, but neither is there a graduated scale circling the channel knob. One little click left or right on the channel selector knob and the built in Alexa voice will remind you of what channel you are on.PRO:1. larger battery for longer usage between charges and radio seems to be built solid2. Fool proof usage for those who are not real familiar with radios or who do not want buttons and whistles to play with and want an out of the box and ready to go radio.3. IP67 waterproofCON:1. I personally, have none at this point. As I mentioned above, I like basic radios with no clutter and this radio, along with the above pros, is what I was looking for.
